My name is Arthur Estrada and I am a leader in the Mobile Home Residents Coalition. I live in a mobile home park called Skandia Mobile Country Club.
We really need your help with increasing rents in our mobile homes, and getting a rent stabilization ordinance to protect us.
My rent has increased $75.00 per month for the next 3 years. Then I don’t know how high it will go. I purchased my home in August 2021. In September 2022, the park was sold to IPG. Immediately, IPG increased the space rent for new buyers to $750. The industry rule is that for every $10 per month space rent increase, you lose $1,000 in mobile home equity. I lost $75,000 in 30 days!
We need your help to stop these predatory corporate conglomerates from purchasing mobile home parks and raising rents to unsustainable rates for families and seniors, causing them to become homeless. We need you to support AB1035!
